It doesn't look like it. But that's part of his point. Because it doesn't look dangerous, it is. It's called 'The Strid.' People who approach this river don't see the danger. But if you're in the water, there's no river bank to grab a hold of to climb back onto shore. In fact, both 'shores' are rocky overhangs. The river is much wider beneath the surface. Fascinating to think such a calm looking river can be so deadly!
