Amy's Pile: OpenTable Using Tool To Help You Avoid Lines At Grocery Stores

Priceline To Buy Online Reservation Service OpenTable For 2.6 Billion

Dinner reservation platform OpenTable is launching a new tool to help those going to the grocery store during the coronavirus pandemic.

They are expanding its reservation software to let users choose between available shopping time slots at supermarkets and retailers. So just as you'd make a restaurant reservation on the app, now you can reserve a time to shop or join a waitlist.

The move comes as public health agencies and local governments urge the public to avoid crowded areas to slow the spread of coronavirus. Shopping windows and party sizes will vary depending on the establishment and users can receive text alerts when it's their turn to shop.
