TMSG: Beachgoers Come To Rescue For Dozens Of Washed Up Whales

Dozens of pilot whales beached themselves on St. Simons Island, Georgia on July 16th. Concerned beachgoers, lifeguards, and wildlife officials didn't think twice and spring into action to save the whales.

Clay George, a wildlife biologist with Georgia's Department of Natural Resources, says that "While stranding is a known natural occurrence, the only thing we can do is to continue pushing them out to sea."

There was an estimated 40 to 50 animals on the beach. People of all ages started to work together to push the distressed marine mammals back out to sea.
