Jana Kramer is planning to keep her next relationship a little more private, according to a recent interview with PEOPLE magazine at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas. The country singer separated from her husband, NFL player Mike Caussin, five months ago, and has been open about their divorce in her podcast series, Whine Down with Jana Kramer.

Kramer explained that while she's been open about her past relationships, including all of the highs and lows, she feels the need to be a bit more private moving forward. Seeing how relationships can be picked apart through the media, she'd prefer to step back for now and focus on what's happening in her life, rather than sharing it for the whole world to see.

"For me, I just feel like I need to be very careful talking about the next relationships because I know how they get picked apart," she said in the interview. "Right now I just want to enjoy and keep things close to me."

Kramer and Caussin share two children, Jolie Rae, 5, and Jace Joseph, 2. Since her and Caussin's separation, she has been making sure their children are her priority. Kramer has also been spotted with former NFL player Jay Cutler since her and Caussin's split, sparking rumors about a new romance.

The country singer has a new single, "Voices," set to be released on September 24. The track will find Kramer confronting her demons of self-doubt following the end of her marriage, and considers the track to be a saving grace. "I remember listening to the demo [Sara Brice] gave me on repeat for hours that first month," Kramer said. "Literally on the floor crying my eyes out singing the words until I believed them. I pray this song can do the exact same for someone else who needs it as much as I did and still do on those days where I let the voices creep back in."

When considering new relationships, Kramer revealed to PEOPLE earlier this month that she doesn't want just a fling. "There's still a lot of work I have to do healing-wise, but I am entertaining things," she said.
