Little Big Town is back with the title track of their upcoming album, Nightfall.
On Friday (January 10), the band released their latest single “Nightfall,” a heartfelt number doused in the romanticism of first love and nostalgia. Co-produced with Ian Fitchuk and Daniel Tashian, Little Big Town’s title record is the latest to appear off their ninth studio album of the same name, releasing on January 17.
With “Nightfall,” the country superstars pair tranquil string rhythms and heavenly vocals that meld well together on the song’s blissful chorus, which goes: “Turn the lights down, we can watch the stars crawl/ You and I fall, baby, when the night falls.”
“I love dusk. That’s my favorite time of day. Then the romantic things happen at night,” bandmate Karen Fairchild told The Tennessean while speaking about the tune. “The chaos, the crazy when we’d drink too much and we have a good time, happens at night. And then the loneliness for people and the questions and the self-reflection often comes at night.”
The group’s latest offering follows previously-released songs including “Over Drinking,” “Sugar Coat” and “The Daughters,” the latter of which recently garnered Little Big Town a nomination at the 2020 Grammys for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Little Big Town kicks off their “Nightfall” North American tour on January 16 at Carnegie Hall in New York City — see the dates here.
