February is LOVE our Food Bank Month in Interior Alaska.
Miracles happen every day, thanks to the sharing of the heartfelt people who live in Interior Alaska.
The Fairbanks Community Food Bank is seeking HEART HEALTHY canned foods during the month of February. Please call 45-SHARE if your workplace is able to collect food items, especially cans with the American Heart Association label on them or cans with lower salt content and less sugar. We CAN solve local hunger issues because we SHARE in the Tanana Valley.
"I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor. Do you know your next door neighbor? If you can’t feed 100 people, feed just one.” (Mother Teresa)
We all need heart healthy food, so please provide the healthiest and most nutritious food you can to those who woke up this morning and did not know where their next meal would come from. Did you know 5,4 million seniors in the United States currently face hunger, even seniors in the Tanana Valley. Seniors can find it harder than the general population to protect themselves from hunger, due to lack of transportation, functional limitations, or health problems. But we know how to show HANDS-ON LOVE to our seniors in the Tanana Valley.
Visit the Fairbanks Community Food Bank on Facebook or check out their website www.fairbanksfoodbank.org or stop by 725 26th Avenue in Fairbanks.
