They almost sold it to Liechtenstein? How many Alaskans even know where Liechtenstein is? I had to look it up! Liechtenstein's only got about 38,000 residents! Drastically less than Anchorage. Heck, it's even less than Fairbanks! And at 62 square miles, it's got way less land than either the Anchorage or Fairbanks boroughs! And yet, Russia offered Alaska to tiny Liechtenstein!
So, this begs the question. Why did Russia sell Alaska, anyway?
